Journalists working in both print and broadcast media in Ukraine face an alarming set of political and other pressures on their independence, and these have grown more severe as January's presidential election aproaches. Read this special report by Arthur Rudzitsky and colleagues, who are preparing to launch a new AEJ Section in Kiev in 2010. The AEJ Congress in Maastricht on 20 to 22 November welcomed the report and noted its findings with concern.
